Boost Sales Page Conversions On Every Holiday
December 29, 2009 – 5:50 amIf you market and sell your products and services online then you already know how hard it can be to make sales. The reason being is that commonly used urgency calls hardly work these days. The following reasons show you why:
- Site visitors are blind to action words such as “Today,” or “Now.”
- There is a possible lack of trust between you and your visitors.
- Your visitor is smart because he or she knows the price will be the same tomorrow and the day after when they read sales copy that states “If You Buy Today You Will Receive…” or “Get It For A Special Discount Price Today Only…”
It would be more realistic to replace outdated and non performing copy with something more realistic. For example:
- “Thanksgiving Day Special Discount Offer”
- “Easter Only Bonus Offer”
Both of the above clearly state to the visitor that the offer is special only today because “today” happens to be one of the US National Holidays. Therefore the visitor knows fully well the price will rise by tomorrow or else the special bonus will disappear.
The problem with either of the copies above is that unless you physically change the sales copy for and after each Public Holiday, chances are you are losing sales!
Because of the circumstantial complications to do this by hand most marketers never bother and therefore settle for a reduction in their earnings.
To help you overcome this obstacle I have created an advanced PHP tool in my lab. The tool is preloaded with 60 US Holiday dates and will automatically insert an urgency call on each Holiday.
Here is what the “Holidays Sales Booster” tool will write for you on autopilot:
- “Thanksgiving Day Special Discount Offer”
- “Halloween Special Discount Offer”
- “Christmas Day Special Discount Offer”
- “Mother’s Day Special Discount Offer”
- “Independence Day Special Discount Offer”
Here is my sales page on non holiday days:

Then on Thanksgiving Day, Nov 26 2009:

Then every other day there isn’t urgency call banner on the top of page:

Then again on Christmas, Dec 25 2009:

etc…etc…
Once you set up this system it will automatically display an urgency call on every Public Holiday date throughout the year.
If you want to change the banner text or add a discount coupon code you can do this easily by editing the PHP file.
For those of you unfamiliar with PHP (can be edited with Notepad) and FTP you might first want to learn about them as my tool will be harder to use.
The Holidays Sales Booster tool is great for people who know how to FTP files to their server and edit PHP files to make simple changes.
I have preloaded the current version with Holiday dates for 2009 and 2010.
You will receive free updates for 2011 at the end of 2010.
Script Requirements:
- You need PHP on your server.
- Your sales page should be in .php format as you need to insert one line of php code on the top of sales page.
but it’s yours for FREE for a limited time only if you register below now!

This is an excellent way to boost sales on holidays! I would recommend it to any one who wants to boost his marketing efforts.
Thank you

Shouldn’t array_key_exists compare $todaydate against $holiday and not $dates1 as it’s currently comparing to?
Just playing around with the script a bit.
So far it’s reading the html from a file with file_get_contents() so I don’t have to mess with modifying discountbanner.php directly.
Gonna mod it for use on one or two WP blogs to remind visitors of some of my recommended resources from time to time.
Next change will be displaying the actual name of the day so I can display that in addition to the date itself

You are right Henrik.
I changed it.

And just noticed that the actual name of the special day was already in the script – for my test I used “Dec 29″ for both the array reference and the array content so I didn’t notice it

Hey Nikola…
Once again you’ve come up with something both innovative and practical. Kudos!
Thanks alot, I’ll be sure to implement this with my New Year’s promotionals.

It is a good thing to have compeling scripts for special times. The only draw back is you have to be well organized to use them for special events.

Hey Nikola-
Thanks again for forwarding this very informative post. And once again you have come up with a script way before the other marketers get a hold of it. You are ahead of the curve! What I would like to do with this script but I don’t have the technical ability to modify php is to have an option to create my own calender of messages (in addition to the 60 holidays you have in there) that would schedule a run on the sales pages.
for example,
day 10 is Easter, the message of Easter Special comes on sales page.
but day 12 might be (2 day after Easter sale, or something like that).
Can we do that too?

Lisa,
Just edit file holidayslist-2010.php
and add new dates and names in the same format like it is:
“Oct 11″ => “Columbus Day”,
“Nov 11″ => “Veterans Day”,
If you birthday is on Feb 19th, you can add line:
“Feb 19″ => “My Birthday”,

Thanks Nikola! Once I figure it out, I’ll see if I can squeeze in some time to do a Camtasia video for you like I did for your Worpress Clickbank Affiliate Plugin. I’ll Skype you.

Thank you Nikola. This answers a question I didn’t think about asking. I figured it was just part of my learning curve. This feature is now part of all of my campaigns for the New Year. And I look forward to receiving alerts about your other creations as well.

I will write update here, today.
By Nikola on Dec 31, 2009
To insert it on WP blog:
- Upload discountbanner.php and holidayslist-2010.php to server root (public_html)
- Edit theme file header.php and insert this code
< ?php
require_once("discountbanner.php")
?>

This is excellent written for the purpose of making money from boosting sales. The descriptions are well arranged in perfect paragraph with insertion of some earlier published data clips. I found it very useful too.
